Our journey...

Since owning Onegin, we have been lucky enough to sail to some incredible destinations. She started her journey with us in the UK, berthed in Cowes on the Isle of Wight where our family sailing all began. When we made the big move from house-living in London to boat-living in Greenland Dock, Onegin became our new home while we worked on searching for a houseboat as a more permanent solution. Our first long-haul sail with Onegin was in the summer of 2012, when we took her across the Channel with the aim of reaching the Baltic Sea through the Kiel Canal.

During the year of 2013, after she was dry docked in Stockholm for the previous winter, we sailed Onegin with various groups of crew (family members and friends from near and far) from Stockholm, Sweden, through the Aland Islands, to Helsinki, Finland, St Petersburg, Russia, Tallinn, Estonia, back across the Baltic to Stockholm and down the coast towards Copenhagen, Denmark. In the autumn of that year, we reached our destination for the winter in Alesund, Norway.

The next big adventure came with a sail-ski holiday in the fjords of Norway, something we had planned for a while. In March 2014 we took Onegin to Saebo where we docked her as our base point for hiking and skinning up the mountains from sea level up to 1717 metres!

In the summer of 2014 we sailed up the coast of Norway into the Arctic Circle and the Lofoten Islands then back down south ending our journey in August in the Scottish Isles and wintering in Inverness.

The next season we took the boat through the Caledonian Canal and then across to Ireland at the end of April/early May.  After Ireland we started off down south and towards the Mediterranean, taking in Atlantic France and Spain before arriving in our new home town of Lisbon in mid August 2015.

A winter close to home and then south again for a couple of seasons in the Med will bring us closer to the next big step. We hope to prepare for the biggest sail yet, across the Atlantic Ocean to the Caribbean. From there, we will head to Geoff's homeland CANADA to sail up the St Lawrence River into the Great Lakes to the western end of Lake Superior. From there we have a crazy plan that the boat may go on an eighteen-wheeler off to the west coast and Vancouver. The next step will be to plan our potential Pacific Ocean sailing... It's a big plan, we will see how it goes!
